QATSICPP Members' Conference 2019 “Save the Date”
Mark the week of 24-28 June 2019 in your calendars as a full week of events have been planned to focus on the strengths and successes of the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Child Protection Sector.
Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 June 2019 - CAFWAA National Child Protection Conference
QATSICPP has partnered with PeakCare and the Child and Family Welfare Association of Australia (CAFWAA) to bring to Brisbane a national child protection conference.
Wednesday 26 June 2019 - Advocacy Masterclass with Professor Cindy Blackstock
We are very excited to announce that Professor Cindy Blackstock, Executive Director, First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada will deliver an Advocacy Masterclass on Wednesday 26 June 2019. Professor Blackstock has contributed her life’s work towards advocacy and representation of First Nations children and young people in Canada and the Masterclass is designed to strengthen the voice of our Sector and further encourage representation and strong advocacy under the changing legislative and policy reform.
Thursday 27 and Friday 28 June 2019 - QATSICPP Members' Conference
The 2019 QATSICPP Members’ Conference will be held on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 June and will showcase our Sectors’ (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child and Family Wellbeing Services, Family Participation Program Services and Foster and Kinship Care Services) capacity and commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families, with a strong focus on QATSICPP’s four (4) Strategic Priorities:
- Sector and Practice Excellence;
- Partnerships and Accountability;
- Voice and Representation; and
- Cultural Leadership and Maintaining Independence with a strong focus on Advocacy.
A ‘Call for Presentations’ will be released in the near future with a focus on sharing best practice across our Sector to allow practitioners to enhance their own practice and service and system responses by learning from each other.
7pm Friday 28 June 2019 - QATSICPP 10 Year Anniversary Dinner
To round off the week, the QATSICPP 10 Year Anniversary Dinner will be held on 28 June 2019 in celebration of the successes and achievements of QATSICPP and the Sector over the past 10 years. The celebrations will acknowledge key people who were integral in establishing QATSICPP and building strong foundations for the Sector.
Intended delegates for all events include the following:
- QATSICPP Members’ staff (inclusive of management, and frontline workers);
- Key Stakeholders working within the Child Protection Sector in Queensland; and
- Key Stakeholders working within the Child Protection Sector in other jurisdictions.
